Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro LTE Review: Premium Features, Budget-Friendly Price

Samsung-Galaxy-Watch-5-Pro

In a world of premium smartwatches with sky-high prices, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 Pro LTE emerges as a surprisingly capable and affordable option. Launched in August 2022 alongside the standard Galaxy Watch 5, the Watch 5 Pro LTE offers a robust feature set without breaking the bank. I recently spent a few weeks putting this smartwatch through its paces, and here’s what I found.

My Experience with the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro LTE

From the moment I strapped it on, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro LTE impressed me with its solid build quality. The sapphire crystal display and titanium casing felt premium and capable of withstanding daily wear and tear.

Here’s what stood out:

  • LTE Connectivity: The freedom to leave my phone behind while still staying connected was a game-changer. Whether I was out for a run or just running errands, I could make calls, receive messages, and even stream music without needing my phone nearby.
  • Fitness Tracking: The Watch 5 Pro LTE accurately tracked my workouts, from running and cycling to swimming (thanks to its 5 ATM water resistance). The built-in GPS ensured precise route tracking, and the heart rate monitor provided consistent data.
  • Health Monitoring: Beyond fitness, the watch offered comprehensive health tracking features. I appreciated the sleep tracking, body composition analysis, and ECG monitoring. These tools gave me valuable insights into my overall health and well-being.
  • Long-lasting Battery: I consistently got two full days of use on a single charge, even with LTE enabled. This is impressive for a smartwatch with this many features.
  • User-Friendly Interface: Navigating the watch’s interface was intuitive and responsive. Samsung’s Wear OS with One UI Watch 4.5 overlay is smooth and easy to personalize.

A few minor drawbacks:

  • Limited App Selection: While the app selection is decent, it still lags behind Wear OS alternatives.
  • Bixby Limitations: Samsung’s Bixby voice assistant, while improved, still isn’t as capable as Google Assistant.
  • Processor: Exynos W920 Dual-Core 1.18GHz
  • Memory: 1.5GB RAM + 16GB internal storage
  • Operating System: Wear OS powered by Samsung with One UI Watch 4.5
  • Connectivity: LTE, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Barometer, Gyro sensor, Geomagnetic sensor, Light sensor, Optical Heart Rate sensor, Electrical Heart sensor (ECG), Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis sensor
  • Durability: Sapphire crystal display, titanium case, 5ATM + IP68 water and dust resistance, MIL-STD-810H

Is the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro LTE Right For You?

If you’re an Android user looking for a robust smartwatch with LTE connectivity, excellent fitness and health tracking, and a durable design, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro LTE is a fantastic choice. Its combination of features and affordability makes it a standout option in the crowded smartwatch market.
